CHILL
2004 Beneteau Oceanus 473
Two-stateroom owner's version
Two-owner boat, never chartered
USCG ON 1154174

CHILL is a fast ocean cruiser and comfortable island home. She is the two-stateroom owner's version of this popular cruising yacht designed by Groupe Finot. She is cutter rigged with all sail handling and control lines led to the cockpit. Powered primary and halyard winches, roller-furling headsails and fully-battened main with single line reefing systems make her easy for a couple to handle. The combination of ample solar power, large battery capacity, ample tankage, super-insulated freezer/refrigerator and LED lighting allow CHILL to cruise off the grid and away from marinas for extended periods.

One of CHILL's best features is the enormous cockpit with rugged hardtop which provides shade from the tropical sun. Full enclosure panels can be opened or closed to keep out the rain and provide as much or as little ventilation as desired. The cockpit (new cushions 2014) provides a spacious center for sailing, lounging or entertaining. It is a popular gathering spot for (sundowners) with fellow cruisers. Twin wheels provide easy walk-through access to the stern platform and provide excellent visibility for the helmsman when sailing or motoring with guests in the cockpit. Integrated davits with 6:1 Harken roller bearing tackle make dinghy launch and recovery a breeze.

Eleven overhead hatches with shades, 3 skylights with shades plus 6 opening and 6 fixed ports with finger-tip CloZures sliding blinds (new in 2016) provide outstanding light and ventilation to the spacious interior.
Many custom touches and features make CHILL a standout among others of this excellent cruising design. Bottom job and hull polishing in April 2018 have CHILL looking good and ready to cruise this fall.
